the story of every life is told directly or indirectly in those lines He died many years after he was born.
He left us like the moon does slightly before dawn.
He has gone to a place we all shall go.
To some he was a friend to others he was a foe.
He is now a member of a different race.
A race seen only in dreams with moon lit faces.
The soil he empty will soon have seeds to grow
as life goes and comes like winter and snow.

I believe that we do not just die and are gone, but, as you cannot stay in your mothers womb forever, neither can you stay in babyhood or childhood - neither can you stay in old age, and the law of nature is that when something ends, something also begins again - whether it is a year, a season, or a stage of life, and so we do go on, in spirit. What a lovely poem. |
