Choose life
By punchy
20 March 2008
The title reminds me of a tee-shirt I wore in the eighties when I was well into Frankie goes to hollywood and had a shaggy perm! Or was it from that flippin great film with ewan mcgreggor but I can't think what it's called?

Oh my God
It's fucking true
I really am alive

But how did I
Get out my grave
How did I survive

It wasn't prayer
Or spirit guides
Cos that's a pile of shit

I think I must
Have found control
And learnt to deal with it

They say that if
you pray enough
That what you want you'll find

But I know now
The answer lies
In your subconscious mind

Who gives a toss
What we've been dealt
It all becomes our past

I choose life
I choose to live
And boy can I live fast

Very lightly delivered. Loved the last line. I heard someone say that one should live every day as if it is the last. Also heard a story by another one about a monk whom was asked what he would do if he knew the next day would be the day of doom. "Keep on sweeping the floor", he replied.

"I think I must have found control and learnt to deal with it" is nicely at the centre of this piece, as I think that is the important thing. Good luck spreading your happy message :)
Great philosophy...

But who would have thought that it stemmed from either a shite band or mediocre film?

Spot on.

Just about sums it up, PP. Like the aggressive tone in this.

'Live each day as if it were your last.' If I did that - I reckon I'd be dead within a week!

Thanks again for you reviews.
I was trying to be positive without being too cheese.
But I have to disagree Brett about mediocre film, Train spotting wasn't it? Was a great film I thought.
And Phil I now want to know what you would do if today was your last?
