| A Simple Question | |

Basically this poem is about the impossible search for answers that seem simple. It was inspired partially by the song "Your Time Has Come", by Audioslave, and was written with (the memory of) my uncle in mind. A Simple Question Mike Shaw
I’ve pressed my face into a pillow, And dreamed the world away. I’ve met the sun’s all-knowing gaze, But it forced my gaze away.
I’ve wandered backwards for a day, To see what I’ve been missing. I’ve prodded a cat for answers, At the risk of bites and hissing.
I’ve ascended the Eiffel Tower, But the city held no clues. I’ve snorkelled vibrant coral reefs, To awaken my inner muse.
I’ve seen so very much on this quest, Yet learned so very little. I’ve still not answered my burning question; Why is life so brittle?
