This little bean sprout seemed to shout beneath the soil

Wanting the out and about buzz, its shoots squirming.

Past the embryonic stage to full narcotic ecstasy

All those rumours about the birds and the bees popping like corn.

The tail end of a song stuck right on the tip of your tongue

The satisfaction of putting a name to the face

Yours is always right in front of me.

And it’s so much more than satisfactory.

All these little drifts-

I’m getting to see the magic again

All the little secrets that plant passes onto the next open ear…

The knowledge that makes your personal world go round

The easy drift, the gentle slope

Not slippery and not a joke.

Just bemusing with its own personal ditty

A soundtrack you don’t necessarily feel until the end.

And that is always so dramatic, with the flames and the stars

But just right now it’s the moment you’ve been waiting for.

And it keeps on going….
