Trader (Grocer & Co)

The old trader standing firm
He knows the value of the cent
That he So dearly loves to trade
Buying and selling at a profit
In a competitive market place
He makes his philosophy

The concrete he stands on
As solid as the One and One
Making Two
Written in black and white
Now printed then on a screen…
Not in the imagination of a glorious dream

But hard-felt and well grasped
No matter
How sophisticated things get
His firm belief is in this well-rooted concept
Where technicians
Can always sort out the glitches

His greed disguised
In his pompous self-importance
He prays and teaches his children to fear their god
When his only fear
Is the demise of interest
The benevolence of his endeavors
Is the only breath of life

Where his claim
Is what makes the world a better place
Where to risk
Is to stray from the acceptable
Where to be free
Leads to no reward
Where to be different
Is to be considered a loss
Where to believe by not believing
Requires extraordinary measures

The child born unto him as he is…
The child born unto him suffering for what he is not…
The mother bringing forth the decaying flesh
By not being mother
The father the creator of the creator of things
Stands idly at the gate
And the day goes on …
