What Can You Be?
By Josie
29 March 2008
Well, what am I?  Try this one.  This is the next stage up.

At the beginning of eternity I have my rightful place –

I’m also there awaiting you at the end of time and space.

I’ve never lived in London, nor yet again in York

You’ll find me when you’re reading, but never when you talk.

Ha - That's got you. Think! Who doesn't live in either London, York or Bolton, but might live in Ilkley? Come on! Whose waiting at the end of time for you? Think!

I meant to warn you that it won't be God - to make you feel better about it.

Quite right. It's too easy for you. Did you consider it might have been the devil?

Never, not from you!

Quite right Steve. I think I owe you two prizes for getting both of them right. We'll discuss this later. Goodnight.

Josie - friskier still! 'Discuss later' - and then a 'goodnight'? I may have to review my opinion of you.

Whatever IS the matter with the man from Bolton? Can anyone enlighten me? Too much rain on his bald head. It's a known fact that it's bad for a man of a certain age.

What IS the matter with him, as far as I can work out, is that he has a bolt-on and it's coming slowly.
