A man walked into a shop...

This is a stupidly short stupid story... just testing the waters of my new account! Whoooooo!

M xx

Once upon a time a man went into a shop.
"Hello", the man said to the shop keep.
"Hello", the shop keep replied. He was an old man with a moustache and long sideburns.
"I'd like to purchase a magazine please", said the man.
"OK", replied the shop keep.
"No, I've read that one", said the man. Everyone applauded and the man went home.

THE END!

Hey, welcome to GW :)

I lol'd at this: "Just read the stories and weep with hatred!" (from your profile)

This is quite a way to introduce yourself, but I think I speak for everyone when I say we look forward to seeing some *actual* writing from you!

I loved this - especially the end! 'Everyone applauded,' sounds really funny after that ending. I think you should put it in comedy section. I think it will work (or you might get stoned.) Just a couple of points.

1. don't you mean 'shop keeper'? (maybe not in UK)
2. the comma belongs inside the quote, not outside.
eg. "OK," replied ...

Liked your profile. "Ignorance is medicine," is another good quote, an old Korean saying. It means it's better for one's health not to know some things.

Well it made me laugh! Brightened up a dull lunch hour.

I'd echo Mia's comments about punctuation, etc, though.
