The wonders of modern jazzology

Jazz me down
Through sunset strips on boulevards
Where midnight owls hoot that horn
Impro my amp to the beat
Of sassy tunes

Jazz me down
On sandy cup of Havana
Where the angel met lady
Waiting
For that virgin birth of a rhyme

Jazz me up
Where the night swings it moody frustration
On a tramp loud as tram to my ear
Where the dawn sees the light of salvation
For a lover
Mother
And other such words that my drumbeat
Oozes down to a plucker
Swish

Jazz me up
Where
I sing not of thuds and light dazzles
To the six where my music free saddles
The shade on my lamp that is green
On the screen
I pinpoint
My target in moonlit soprano
And
Hit it

Blow that sax!

Reminds me very much of some of Tom Waits's work. I can hear that sleazy sax in the background of the smoky (now smoke free!) club. You really capture the mood and rhythm of jazz.

Brilliant poem, it had it all! Full of great lines. Really great stuff...
