Siblings at war
By punchy
08 April 2008

Snatching and hitting and violent tongues
The sisters they battle with spite
Pinching and kicking the tearing of skin
A powerful hissy fit fight

Under the hate there must be some love
For underneath anger is pain
How can we outwit the siblings at war
Or is their performance a game

For every tear a reaction achieved
Attention and blame are returned
But is this preparing for what is to come
The lessons of life being learned

Ah, but isn't that the great thing about siblings? They can fight furiously, but it will always be all right in the end. They are (or at least should be) there for each other unconditionally, simply because they will always be siblings, wether they like it or not.

An enjoyable poem that somehow made me think of kittens fighting each other, apparently learning for later :grin

Ha ha - I think you can say that it certainly is. My grandchildren are: Jessica 4 in June and Daniel 18 months younger, and oh my! Do they fight? Jessica thinks she is his Mum and refers to him sometimes as her little boy. So as mother takes away from him dangerous things that boys love to get at, she takes away most things from him, but how he screams! It was the same with my brother and me too. Quite normal. It's not classed as hate though. It's love.

Thanks, I wouldn't let Peter Gabriel near my lyrics anyway he's so old hat!
Enough about the grammar, at least I use capital letters and don't make words up "peter gabrielesk". Toss pot :grin
