Flying

Another poem!

Any feed back will be welcome!

First stood on the hard ground,

Staring up at the possibilities, the questions

And answers.

Then a hand is offered,

Without a glance I leap into the clear movie air.

I stay up.

Turbulence can be strong

In metaphorical skies and my fearful body

Is battered.

Calm winds guide my body,

Though I myself decide the route that I take today,

And tomorrow.

If you look you will see

Children leaping from life to life. Only some get

Pulled back down.

It is your time now, girl,

To choose to leap from the ground, your rock and home,

And Fly.

Well put jellybean. Yes, there is a time when we all h ave to leap forth into the world of adulthood, but it seems a shame that today children are leaving childhood much too early. Childhood is a very special time and something you can never quite get back again once y ou've made that first leap. Well done.

Yep, agree with Josie, you put this across well. I enjoyed the images you put forth here. And I also agree that childhood should be cherished, not rushed through. Adulthood is very over-rated. Kind of reminds me of a book, The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger. Its a fantastic book, you should read that if you haven't already, deals with some of the themes present here.
Anyway, a good effort, well done
