THE ACCIDENTAL BOOK THIEF
A book is a personal treasure,
it shouldn't be lent out for long.
I'd return this volume, with pleasure,
if I knew who I'd borrowed it from.

so THAT Written by fellpony (1580 comments posted) 27th April 2008 | | is where my copy of The Ode Less Travelled is hiding! | Written by NathanRoberts (277 comments posted) 27th April 2008 | I've lent a number of books, some of which were treasured, never to see them returned. I can't be too judgemental, as I've done the same to others. I think I've got a copy of Genet's 'The Thieves' Journal' somewhere that I don't recall purchasing...

Probably very sad - but at least I always know where my books are. Simple and funny. I was draw to the title as I've just finished a book called 'The Book Thief' by Marcus Zusak - excellent read that I'd recommend to all. Amusing little verse. | haha Written by SplatterpunkShelbs (37 comments posted) 27th April 2008 | My mother and I have this problem all the time. I think I'll start writing this in the covers of my books | Treasure! Written by Katanga (1163 comments posted) 27th April 2008 | Yes, Veronica, I agree - a good book is a treasure. If I like a book, then I want to hold on to it forever. And I've always hated libraries - the airlessness and the filing systems that I could never understand, even as an 'alert' student. I mean 'microfiche' cataloguing systems - what? So . . . I have always bought my books Which is why I have so few And now I rely on others Like-minded folk like you. Forgive me Veronica, it's getting late . . . Cheers! John X |
