A cut on the arm
By RossFlinches
28 April 2008
I cut myself today, on the arm. I held the kitchen knife, a little black stubby one of which I'm not sure gets used to cut anything much in the kitchen and dragged it up my arm as deeply and for as long as my pain barriers could bear. The cut was about 6 inches when I finished. It looked quite impressive, not that I'm sure how best to judge something like this. I just went ahead and gave my opinion based on how deep it was and the length of it. Yes, quite impressive indeed. As I slowly cut through my flesh and as the trail grew longer I drew parallel's with a shark. The blade was a shark leaving a little trail of blood in it's wake as if it were bleeding from an injury though more likely shaking something to death in it's jaws. It looked really funny. First it was a straight red line, all perfect like a newly tarmacked driveway. Then the blood started to run away from the incision and ooze over the edges. It didn't look so good then. Then it was just a careless child drawing outside the lines.

This could be an interesting insight into why people cut themselves, but it lacked motivation. There's no mention of the release of tension etc.
