Hello all my many fans ha ha

this is just me having fun as a child I

was always in trouble for talking Gordie

so here I have done a wind up of myself

and also my husband attitude to my

poems. He a great husband but this he

doesn't understand. To them that don't

understand the spelling mistakes are

deliberate this time that is how the

people from Newcastle talk just read

the words  as there are spelt.

Sorry if I cause offence to the real

poets out there enjoy p.s.

chor is what they say in place of man.

Had-away wor lass

Ya rec-con yor a poet

Ya

lik that chor

Billy Shakespeare

Cos thee can rhyme

a word or three.

Thee won-not ken a sonnet

If thee war sat-n-nit

Cor wor lass wot cud ye ad been

If thee add been educated

Thee sam as me

that's funny and clever. I love your rhyme of sonnet and sat-n-nit.

Errg, I was hoping to be able to understand this since I actually know a Geordie. Turns out hearing him speak really didn't help me with this XD

Actually...I've re-read it more carefully, and I get it now :grin

Well, let me ask just to be sure...

"wor lass": I know lass is lady/wife/woman/whatever, but what about 'wor'? Seems like it would be 'my'...am I right?

"Cor": This one stumps me. The sentence makes sense without it, so I don't have any context clues :(

Wor means "our"

Cor as in blimey, if mixing a bit of cockney in helps at all.

Easily understandable to me who has a deep understanding of all things geordie due to background and upbringing. I love the dialect.

A canny vorse, pet.

Made perfect sense to me - but I spent a good few years reading Viz!

Fun piece, liked it.

Really liked this one! Very fun, and cleverly written. I didn't understand everything though. Your hubby must be a very funny guy!

I thought this was great fun, Violet - took me a while to get my head round it, but then I chortled joyously for quite some no little time.

Still chuckling in fact . . .

Cheers!
