Teen's Transition
By mightymoose

Just something from the heart of a parent.

It's nice the watch
the heart of my young man
getting over his first love
and taking command.

"Would this nice hoody
and my cleanest jeans
meet the standards of
the parent of this teen?"

"With long dark hair,
she's pretty! She's tall!
She's nice! She's smart!
She plays basketball!"

Let me see your beard.
It's a stylish shadow.
                                                                                       ("Will parents approve?")
It's the manners you present.
Stop worrying!  Now go!

I like the sentiment, and I like 'Let me see your beard.
It's a stylish shadow.'

There is a nice flow to this piece ( I must admit at first reading I thought there a couple of wrenched rhymes, but I think I was wrong and you are right).

If only we were all wise enough to realise 'It's the manners you present.'

Enjoyed this. Cheers.
