For all who wish to be reminded

Babies screams awakens dreams

You sigh, baby cries

Bottle tried, Bottom dried

cries and cries

What now

Pick her up, let her cry

What! she could die

What were you told

God

She's only two days old

Which way must she lay

Better take another look

It's nothing like in the book

What motherhood bring

Tears spring

"Give me a rest, I'm doing my best"

Baby cuddles into chest

Heartbeats through your breast

Crying stops, Surprise!, Realise

Baby smiles

(SEE YOU CAN COPE)

check book

Take a look

Known it all

Ma-in-law call

What sodding luck

I like the encouragement - new mothers need it - and you know what? I think if you wrote this again without trying to rhyme, it would become something surprising.

...and on the way back from there I was surrounded by babies , from about 4 months old down to what a proud mum told me was a bub only two days old (proud dad was there too ) So this work of yours is a nice coincidence !

Ah, I remember the sleepless nights when I thought, what have done to myself? Then my baby smiled, and it was all ok. I just enjoy looking at my child at times. I'm now bracing myself for his teenage years!

I still remember standing over the cot trying to see if I could hear them breathing. Parenthood is one worry after another - any many of them imagined. I'd do it all again though - if I had my time again. If I fell for one now, I might just slit me wrists an' be done with it!
