For me WW2 is just what I read in the history books, but it's still important I think, to remember that people fought and died so that we can live in peace... As for the V2s: I know they were launched from Holland rather than at Holland (Rotterdam was destroyed by planes), but they seem to be a clear symbol of the horrors of that war. May 10, '40 A small nation was awoken, As tanks rolled into the polders. Waterlinie, Grebbelinie; Useless against the violence.
And then a rain of bombs came down. Rotterdam perished in the flames. The blaze could be seen from afar, And the smell of death filled the air.
