Portugese Woman-of-War
By Katanga
12 May 2008

Oh dear. Brett has wittingly, I think, encouraged me to lower (higher? Depends on your vantage point) the tone of GW.

Please note - nothing remotely 'sexist' intended here . . .Just a bit of fun! Ho hum!

Somehow I couldn't resist this limerick, hot on the heels of Valeria's malaria.

Forgive me . . .

And here's a nod to my friend and colleague, Richard, whose mind is an inspiration!

Ho!

My Last Attempt at Romance

My Portugese girlfriend, one Lydia
Gave me a dose of chlamydia
When I started bitching
'Twas because I was itching -
I felt giddy . . . And then even giddier!

Ha!

There's a Portuguese woman I'd like you to meet, above - Adele.

Ouch.

Hmmm - And back to the midge or the moth or what? What rhymes with the next mini-beast John?

Lydia oh Lydia, say have you seen Lydia
Lydia the TATTooed lady??

Groucho Marx's version rhymed Lydia with En-cy-cloPIDDIa. A more welcome rhyme than Chlamydia, I'd have thought!

"On her back is the battle of Waterloo
Beside it 'The Wreck of the Hesperus' too
And proudly above waves the red, white, and blue,
You can learn a lot from Lydia"

Tra la la tra la la...

Sorry, Tolstoy, just didn't have Sue down as a fellow Marxist!

Cheers
I weep again!

Thanks All!

Why don't we resurrect the poor old limerick and give the form our best shot, eh?

Challenge! To write a tragic one with no sexual innuendo whatsover! Well, maybe just a tad?

Ho!
