patterjack's Computer Blues

Yesterday --  or  was  it  Monday  --my computer  blew  up.   Lost  rather  a lot --  including  most addresses , and  all  my  bookmarks   If  people  wish  to  contact  me  they  can  send  me  a pm--  and  if after  that  they  want  to  go  further  -- I  can  contact  them.

Those  whose  addresses  I  had  backed  up  and  with  whom I  have been  in  email  contact before   can  do  it  by  email

Bad  luck  comes  in multiples-- including a burglary at  our  seaside  home --  there  goes  my  son's  flash  tv!

Alas   Alas --  a  blown  up  Mac
has  rather  taken  me  aback  !

I  have a new one , much  much  flasher
which  should make  me  feel  like  a bit  of a dasher

(I  know  that  that  rhyme  could  hardly  be  worse
so  it  hasn't  done a lot  to  improve  my  verse!)

But I  hardly know  which  way  to  turn --
There  are  so  many  new  things  I  have  to  learn

Ah, how annoyed you must feel, pj. A smoking computer and a burglary! Alas, when it rains, it pours. Don't they come in waves???!!! (Now this reminds me of the cyclone in Burma and the earthquake in China. Well, at least in oz, we are spared from such calamities, though I'm keeping my fingers crossed....) I've had computers die on me, too, so I know what that feels like. Distressing. Getting used to a new computer, that takes time, too.

Commiserations, pj. Well, at least you got yourself a flashy new computer.
Mia :sigh

That's tough, Brian, and my condolences to you. But I do have to say that I absoloutly adore:

'annoyed with life in general.'

Chin up, mush.

Cheers

Bad luck, Brian. And they say things come in threes - is your trike insured? ;)

Hope you have a peaceful remainder of the week.

I'll email.

I can sympathise I hate it when I have to relearn new technology. I just want to know it without all that tedious learning ;and with the burglary I can understand why you are annoyed with life in general- a great phrase to end on. No more need be said.
I'm guessing you chose to hold yourself to verse to maintain some control and restraint to prevent a real tub thumping rant. I know that would be my first choice in the same circumstances

My bad temper has been highly exacerbated . and guess who takes the brunt --my poor wife. She is very patient so I dips me lid to her

We will get up to the scene of the crime (lol) tomorrow-- and meanwhile police are organised , neighbours are helping , and we have a handyman lined up

Not much more one can do (except I weep a little in a manly fashion !)
