Wishful Thinking

This was actually inspired by a glimpse on this site, I saw the title 'Wishful Thinking'... and the words started to pour out.

It was wishful thinking to see you.
It was wishful thinking to not feel regret.
I punched you in the chest, you kicked my heart.

It was wishful thinking for you to say yes.
it was wishful thinking to not get hurt.
You pushed me down, I stabbed you in the back.

It was wishful thinking  to not feel this way.
It was wishful thinking for you to disappear.
I held my breath, you held me down.

It was wishful thinking for the  sun to not shine.
It was wishful thinking for not to think of suicide.
I stand across the bathroom floor, you broken on the tiles.

It was wishful thinking to forget all this
It was wishful thinking...
