There is always a brighter side to whatever, just look in a different way.
|
When you're Down and Out
And the world has passed you by
Though you're still alive and kicking
You sometimes wonder why.
There's people in this world of ours,
Big hearted as can be
Who give out heaps of friendship,
And give it all for free.
There are no regulations
To make you toe the line.
Just return the friendship offered
And you'll get on really fine.
And if you travel far away
Remember what you've had;
Share you're friendship freely,
Smile - Make someone glad.

Friendship costs nothing and is the thing which makes people feel happy. Just a smile also helps. Excellent poem Bob. Well done! | Written by mr_soul (80 comments posted) 18th May 2008 | | Ah what a great poem Robru. You've made me smile with this. And that's what it's all about. It's not material things that make people happy, it's not money or all the rest of it. It's people. It's friendship. I think you done a really good job with this. Well done | Written by Robru (125 comments posted) 18th May 2008 | | Thanks to you both for your encouraging comments. Yes Josie, it is about friendships, but when you have just had a run of bad luck you are in effect 'Down and out'. Hence the title. Mr Soul I thank you for your comments about the reality of what its all about. It is all about people and how you interact with all kinds and cultures. |
