Night after night
She sang with the big bands;
Lady Ella's voice spanned three octaves.
She looked so chic and grand;
No gimmicks when Ella performed.
Night after night she'd take a bow
As she took the crowd by storm.
- Ella Fitzgerald has packed her valise
And waved Goodbye to the sand dunes, - Crotchety dromedaries gave her the hump,
- Hump, hump, hump.
Copycat Whinehouse has lost the plot;
Injecting coke in her eyeballs!
Told her to rehab but she wouldn't go,
No, no, no!
'Tain't What You Do (It's The Way That You Do It).
The End|
Written by Brett (1001 comments posted) 23rd May 2008 | Not really my sort of poem, Eric (like more structure myself) but as it's for dear Ella I couldn't help saying well done! Cheers | Written by Mr_E_Writer (225 comments posted) 23rd May 2008 | Dear Brett, thank you for reading and going to the trouble of a reply. The structure of this piece is akin to The song Nellie The Elephant, written in 1957 by Ralph Butler and Peter Hart. Try singing along. My intention, is to offer these lyrics to Army WhineHouse as her comeback from rehab single. Cheers m’dears, Eric. | Ah! Written by Brett (1001 comments posted) 24th May 2008 | I see what you mean. Yes, very catchy. Should suit Amy for the new Bond theme, perhaps. Cheers |
