The Reluctant Shopper
He grumbles up and down each aisle He winces at the till He tries to flirt with the check-out girl – She thinks he must be ill More like a dreaded long-haul flight Than a short domestic hop He grumbles up the high street As they land in every shop “Does my bum look big in this?” He really doesn’t care A nymphette passes by at whom He would much rather aim his stare She remonstrates with him once more “Your mind is really not on it!” “Okay, okay, okay, all right – I really love that bonnet!” At last they find themselves at home Relief and comfort shared But he’d rather be in Paradise If only he ever dared
