Neverending
By talmru
30 May 2008
salted waterfalls...dancing in my sight... even as the words walk from my fingers...

Walking roads is neverending
Friend and foes made and lost
Life a shadow, lost, entwined
forever looking for the past
whatever yearning
who for calling
a lost and darkened light we find
the neverending road for one
has found a different road to walk
a road apart,
a road apart,

things lost, not found
not yet at least,
the greater mysteries to one
revealed
but not to me
no, not to me
time is lost,
the past is made
no more change here for you
not here at least

salted waterfalls
dancing in my sight
a void beside and before me
a pillar lost, only dust remains
playing in the light
casting illusions,
to which I bid
Farewell

Abstract Power!

Hello Talmru!

This gives me the shivers - of the best sort!

I really like it . . . but a bit too abstract?

Your introduction is just as abstract as the content.

I love it, but I think it would be tremendous if you put in a specific link to a real person / lover / situation.

I myself often write abstractly, and then think "How can I make this real?" then invent a lover or whatever.

Yo!

Sorry to hear . . .

I reread with this in mind - strong stuff indeed.

Can you weave the sad fact into your poem?

Dunno . . .

Over the years it is sad to say that my lovely dogs, also, have died. There is something very special about dogs. I always say you feel joined at the soul, for they know you better than anyone. Why don't you write a poem about the good times you had together? This is dreadfully unhappy and so abstract that it is difficult to understand. I wrote a poem about my dogs and said that when I ever get to Heaven they will be there with all their outstretched paws and barks of welcome, for I am quite sure they will. Welcome to GW

I considered this more of a farewell really, sadness yes, but mostly goodbye.

I'm not really any good at happy poetry, I write to calm and center myself more than anything. Thus happy poetry usually comes out as less than what I write to calm down...

It's similar to preferring the minor keys in music.

The poem was simply written to portray a feeling of loss, and at the end, a farewell.
