Alsyn

I was sitting in class through another dull lecture. It was the same reading list I'd read time and time again. That was one of the annoying things about being able to live forever, what the next generation thought were classics are dull reminders of a time past where I'd had to be prim and proper, it wasn't all fancy dresses and prancing about. It was a hard life; not something I looked back on with fondness. I didn't need to read about it; I was there. The class was nearly full of people.

I looked towards Chris, the guy I'd supposedly cut down. A few times, I caught him staring at me, he was searching my face almost, and his eyes met mine for a brief moment, connecting, as if he was trying to tell me something. If I'd ever wanted to be a mind reader then would've been good, I wanted to see what he saw, if he saw the real me. He had a weird expression on his face, I looked right back at him. It was like some kind of staring contest. He continued to stare, looking for something in my face, recognition. I would've laughed if he weren't being so serious. What was his problem? I thought about saying something scathing and clever but my self-control won. I looked back up at him; his face was turned towards the front, a smug look on his face. I looked round to see most of the class staring at me. I darted my head to the front to find the lecturer looking straight at me.

"Are we done with the lovey-dovey eyes Miss ...?" He couldn't remember my name... there was a surprise. "Mr. Stewart?" He quickly looked away and faced the front again. I did the same. The lecturer was taking way too much enjoyment out of the whole thing for it to be healthy. He had a smirk on his face, clearly enjoying every minute. "Now, can we get on with the lesson?" The class laughed. My face burned. I tried to make light of the situation and replied.

"Well don't let me stop you he's all yours" meaning to be funny, and failing miserably, nobody laughed. I wanted somebody to shoot me there and then. The lesson seemed to drag on for hours, I thought I'd never get out; I started to daydream, pretending to take notes. When some of my neighbours started to pack up. I gathered my books together before the lecturer had the chance to bring it up again. I darted for the double doors with my head down. There was a pair of legs in the way. I heard some semblance of speech but it mostly sounded like nonsense.

I looked up at the same goofy face from class looking at me. The nerve, I thought. He was staring at me again, as if he was trying to work something out. He parted his lips as though he was about to say something. . I wasn't going to give him the chance. "Unbelievable", I muttered under my breath. I barged past him with my head down throwing my shoulder into his chest out of malice and he stumbled back. I refused to look back so I just kept going until I reached the exit.

It didn't get much better when I got home. I searched through my bag for my keys my stomach lurching when I thought I'd lost them. I'd also managed to drop a lot of my books on the stairs. I felt like I had no control over my arms. They were shaking so much. It was one of those days where everything that could go wrong, did. I just wanted to sit on the couch with my favourite book and relax. Of course, the fates or whatever had other plans for me.

This just goes to prove that love will do what it wants when it wants, and all the experience of dealing with it makes no difference. It can make fools of anyone. Another well written, revealing chapter in Alsyn's life and love. and just as readable as the others*s*

lol I love how everyone is staring at her staring at him. Again, that happens a lot. lol

I'll second Spooks, she is very modern for a girl who has lived an eternity and it works perfectly in that way and the way she protects her secrets.

Another brilliant chapter!
