A simple poem about my greyhound.
I had a stunning greyhound once, she was gentle, fair and shy.
She walked with grace and dignity, entranced the passers by.
When let free to roam in luscious fields of green.
She was by far the fastest thing that I had ever seen.
She ran with wild abandonment, ran with pace and style.
As dizzy as the proverbial blonde it really made me smile.
I loved her very deeply and miss her mischievous ways.
My thoughts are with her often as night’s turn into days.

The little creatures do leave paw-prints on your heart, don't they. jane | Written by Josie (2847 comments posted) 2nd June 2008 | | I like your poem Kellie and the sentiments expressed. I am also a dog lover and still grieve for the lovely dogs who have shared part of my life but have now died. I have to tell you honestly that I think you have quite spoilt this lovely poem by the layout. Sorry for having to say this, but I would be less than honest if I didn't say I noticed it. | Written by Brett (1001 comments posted) 3rd June 2008 | Sometimes it is a breath of fresh air to read a poem like this rather than the angst ridden and cryptic puzzles. I don't think there is anything wrong in the layout of this piece, and I think you have captured your devotion succinctly. Then being a dog lover perhaps I am being biased. I have two Jack Russells (long legged) and one of them plays with a Greyhound from down the road - a joy to watch. Enjoyed. The layout has been changed from the original. Thanks Josie for picking me up on this. Kellie |
