Life’s too short I hear some say

Others are glad to give it away

It’s not the fun some make out

As we rush about all in a flap

This to pay and that to pay

Is all I seem to hear folk say

I want and can I are permanent words

Those children seem to always say

Sleep and work is all I do

To feed the family and dog too

They go on trips and have some fun

Whilst I’m at work to get things done

I’ve had enough of all this work

All this time I’ve never shirked

I’ve done my bit for the family tree

Now it’s my turn so set me free

At 54 and tow’er thill

They laugh and think he never will

Leave us now and break away

For if he does who will pay

So part time I think aloud

So more time for me I’m bound

Mum and me can go away

And spend the inheritance

Along the way

Go for it!

Do you have any travel plans?

Let the reptiles fend for themselves for a while. I worked out the other day (after receiving a shocking bank statement) that I'd be pretty well off without my kids. Still - wouldn't be without them - yet.
