Softly Spoken

Softly spoken
You transfix me,

Your every breath
Lifts my spirits,
Breezy, lulling

To walk with you
Is to walk in you,
A sweet sanctuary
Of love’s young hopefuls

Irresistibly warm
And comforting,
You are passion’s proof
And longing’s supply.

Hi Charlie.

A very sweet and airy (use of the word breezy, I suppose) poem. I particularly liked the last two lines. You got a lot of longing into the poem with a very small number of words, made it feel quite spacious - if that is not a pretentious way of putting it.

I take back what I have said about all poets only having unhappy love affairs. This sounds like a better and healthier version of love poetry.
Wow, Charlie!

That's a stonking review above from Veronica, and I thoroughly agree!

'You are passion's proof
And longing's supply.'

Stunningly good!

Those lines roll around in my head, and they are bigger than I am . . .

Respect!

Cheers!
