Fellow writers the following work is for female eyes only. The subject only women can understand. So be good boys turn away play with your toys before us woman get annoyed. LADIES PLEASE REVEIW I REALLY LOVE YOU TO. VIOLET
Sisters your womanly secrets
I'd like to unmask
These are the question
I what to ask
Why does my inspiration grow
Along with my menstrual flow
Why do daft ideas flood
With the rush of menstrual blood
Ideas I'm more prone to assert
When I'm on period alert
Why are my breasts so dam pert
When they can't be touched
Because they bloody well hurt
Why do I feel more sexual
With stomach cramps
That hurt like hell
If you've got the answers
Then please tell
Are you the same as me
Am I completely up a tree

You've nailed it. Perhaps we're both just confused, but I think you're dead right. As i used to say to my daughter when she was fifteen and in floods of tears (apparently, over nothing) - "It's just the hormones, dear." Lines 3 and 4 perhaps should read These are the questions I want to ask (I read them that way first time, and didn't see the mistake till I re-read, though!) |

Being a scientist, I could plot the dates of all my posts to GW and count the number of positive reviews, to see if there is a correlation with time of the month. I'm afraid with me its more time of day... best stuff comes to me before breakfast! V |

I have a female boss who always seems to be premenstrual. Stopped me writing pretty much all the time. I know I'm not the correct gender for this - but I did enjoy it. Phil |

| Oh dear! I must be the one to disagree. I had such a terrible time that I could only write a poem once all of that was finished. I ought to write a song of praise now! I really was very ill with it all in those awful days. Has anyone every written a song of praise for the menopause? |

| PS - Why is Phil sandwiched between all we women? Do you think we should tell his wife? I suppose any married man must be an authority on the subject. ha ha - well, almost! |

Phil naughty naughty boy you shouldn't be writing poems at work. Good question Josie but I think we can forgive Phil this one time perhaps you could come up with a poem with the title Phil is where he shouldn't dare. Challenge |

All of what you say is so relevant and accurate; and well done for expressing the paradoxical side of it. I'm sure it does affect your thinking process, though I agree with FP that it is all down to the hormones, bless em! I knew a fellow potter who planned her working schedule around her menstrual cycle, believing she was at her most creative, so the decorating was done then. I usually found that the sharp cramps dampened my creative spirit but I must admit her work was very imaginative and innovative. It's a very personal thing And well done,Phil, for exhibiting his feminine side An excellent and thought provoking piece jane |
