Death

Written because it always seem we leave things unsaid till it's to late

I'll laugh in the face of the devil
To kneel at the feet of our lord
I'll sing with a choir of angels
As Gabriel plays on his horn
Don't grieve though my darling
My love for you will not end
Death will claim to my body
God can lay claim to my soul
My love will be yours forever
Over which there can be no hold

That was such a beautiful sentiment. It was so true. My mother died recently and this would have been perfect to put on her remembrance card .I'll leave it to others to comment on the structure but I thought it was fine

You're probably right - often things are left until it's too late. Well put.

I really like the sound of triumphant victory in this piece in the face of death. I wonder if we should have triumphant celebrations of life, love and hope as we bury those we love.

Beautifully written Violet. Death is only the transition from this life to the next. It can happen at any moment, so if you have something to say to someone, say it today, and if you want to put things right in a relationship, do it now. Tomorrow may be too late.

. . . through this beautiful poem, Violet!

Even when the springs of our souls seem to dry up, the rivers of Love in our spirits still flow . . .

Keep on keeping on!

Love,
