Flash Fiction, the prompt was from another forum I belong to, but wanted to get other people's views.

This is a bit of an experiment, haven't written like this before.

I got the job through a friend of a friend. He knew I was discreet, and he knew I would get the job done. No questions asked. I'd met him in a bar, you know one of those dark dingy places where no-one asks your name or what's your business. They know what your business is, anyways. You frequent places like that, you do the same deal.

Got to admit I was stunned at the job. Don't get me wrong I've done some things in my time, but nothing as big as this. I hoped he didn't feel that bead of sweat on my palm when we shook hands. I didn't want him to think I was chicken He trusted me to keep my nerve, freaking out before the job's even started doesn't give out the right signals. He nodded towards the door to the side of the bar and I followed him, easy as you like. No-one even looked up from their beer.

He told me the plan, what he needed me to do, in that soft voice of his. The voice that warned me not to cross him. Not that I needed that; I'd heard the stories, I knew what he could do. He turned his back and I was dismissed. Got nothing upfront, if I didn't do the job, I wouldn't get the money. Simple as.

So now I'm sitting in the dark, the only light is from the end of my cigarette. Adrenaline pounds round my body; I'm uneasy. Something new for me. A door opens, instinctively I duck into the shadows. My mind clears as my target stands before me. I know what I have to do, what I was born to do.

I raise the camera to my eye. and smile. Easy money.

Hi Bluegirl,

As far as I am aware, the point of flash fiction is to submit a piece of writing within a set time limit and with a prompt, either a word or a phrase.

The idea is to get ideas on to paper. It would be interesting to know what the topic or prompt was.

However, the story flows easily and I don't see anything wrong with the style.
