Wee Willie Winkie
By Josie
11 June 2008

A little boy said:  "Mummy, why was Willie Winkie running round the town at night in a nightdress?"  Mummy said "It's called "cross dressing" today dear.  It's quite a fun thing to do.  But when Willie Winkie was a boy they called a man's nightdress, a nightshirt."  I see men still wear nightshirts, though.  (See photo).  Why do they not call it "cross dressing" when we women wear trousers?  I'd be lost without mine.  Suitable for all occasions and much more comfortable than hot tights.

Wee Willie Winkie is running round the town

But, in this freezing weather, in a nightgown?

Wee Willie Winkie - you’ll have to run quite quick

For the police are looking for you, to take you to the nick.

PS  Who's a pretty boy then?

Very good - I wondered when Wee Willie would make an appearance.

Thank you both. Could I be prosecuted for causing someone to choke? Sorry D.C. In future, when drinking coffee, keep away from the children's section. That's my advice! I don't think Goosey Gander will affect you in the same way.
Hilarious!

Oh dear - tears running down my cheeks and into my beard!

I weep for Wee Willie!

Waaaaaah!

Cheers!
