Bed Time At The Adams
By DaleGorder
12 June 2008
Into bed now, time to sleep,
off with the light, don't make a peep.
Mommy and daddy are just downstairs,
drinking with strangers, no one cares.

Don't put your foot down on the floor,
big black snakes, wait by the door.
enjoy the pinch, when bed bugs bite,
Uncle Fester will snuggle you tight. :)

I liked this! I always loved the Adams Family :)

A good poem I especially enjoyed the 'enjoy the pinch, when bed bugs bite' bit - that works really well

There you are Dale. I think you can say that you have truly come to the right place to be appreciated. Goddess is a teenager and if teenagers like your writing, then we all do. I would have been frightened to have spoken of big black snakes by the door because smaller children would be frightened. I know my little granddaughter would be aged almost 4 - but you must wait for 5 year old Nathan. His opinion is always valuable on this side of Great Writing. Mia - are you there?

I will try this on Nathan when he comes back from school, but he is 5. But he might take this seriously! And he doesn't know Adam's Family.

But this brings back fond memories. I used to work with a man who looked like Uncle Fester. We called him Uncle Fester. He lost all his hair (including eyebrows and eyelashes) due to some stress, and never got them back.

Nathan laughed at this one, I think whatever he understood and the beat was enough to make him enjoy it. He thought Uncle Fester was very nice.

Goddess, thank you. :)

Josie, thank you for pointing this section out to me :)

Mia....I'm delighted that I passed the Nathan test. It was a major accomplishment for me. I think I shall reward myself with a "smiley" sticker and a diploma. :)
