The County Jail
By Adam_S

A man thinks about what he's done in his life and he sits in a county jail. All Reviews and ratings welcome.

Sitting lonely in a county jail

Don't know how I got here

I drank too much ale.

Memories of you and my best friend

Are on ma mind

Summers, winters and how we pasted the time.

But I got older and filled with hate.

I hurt my best friend and made you cry and wait.

My best friend left me and you cried some more.

You cried till you couldn't cry no more.

And when you left me my life hit the wall

Hate consumed me I ain’t got morals no more.

So I'm sitting lonely in a county jail

With nothing but memories to haunt me

And time to fill.

Dylan?

No offence - reminds me fondly of Dylan lyrics!

Actually - that's quite a compliment!

I love the phrase 'pasted the time.'

Good stuff, old boy!

My only advice is to get some meter together, as I've said before.

But I think, seriously, that you REALLY can write good poetry!

More please!

Cheers!
