The Clock Maker
By DaleGorder
14 June 2008
I recently heard of an experiment where they discovered that mechanical clocks actually do balance each other when in the same room. So they put a computer in the room running a clock program, and the room harmonics reset the computer clock so it was ticking in time with them.

   And so, this poem resulted......

Clock maker's house - is filled with clocks

All in time - balanced tick-tocks

A new one he makes - at first out of tune

Soon times itself -with the rest in the room

His heart beat the same - as the clocks in this way

A steady tick-tock - as he moved through his day

Harmonic balance - not stopped by his walls

Spread though the village - affecting them all

Peace and harmony - children at play

Til' the man with science - came to stay

Electrical disturbance - became the way

Stopping the clocks - forever they say

Interesting central premise, and one I hadn't heard of before. (I wonder who did the research, and why.) You made it into a worthwhile poem, although I doubt whether the new clock is really out of "tune" or whether it ought to be "rhythm".

So we ought to beware of the man of science? who invented the clocks then?

Fell,
There has been tons of research done on sound harmonics. Of late for medical purposes. Naughty things(cancer) has it's own level of sound. Healthy tissue has it's own. If you match the the naughty, you can destroy it leaving the healthy...healthy. This is a little known finding resulting from the research. And one they are still trying to understand.

Yes, "tune" is a push there, but had I not used it poor "rhythm" would be in sorry condition. :)

Oh no, I never said we should beware of "the man of science".
I merely suggested that when electric clocks came, it ended the clock makers and the harmonics. Thus it was a disturbance from the normal.

So you liked my little poem? lol "Worthwhile" isn't exactly a gush... but I'll take it coming from someone with your esteem talents. :)
Thank you.
