A Blossoming Poet

Josie - I saw your comment in the reviews of Adam's touching and moving 'My Aphrodite' and couldn't resist the tribute to you below . . .

It's a bit cheeky of me - if you feel embarrassed or patronised by it, I will happily instantly delete it.

My intentions are the best, though . . .

Cheers!

A Blossoming Poet

A blossoming poet, one Josie,
One evening was given a posie
Of heaven-blue forget-me-nots

It came straight from the heart
And right from the start
It meant more to her than other pots

Of flowers, don’t you see –
It was just meant to be
That someone would never forget her?

For attached to the stems
Was a bracelet of gems
And with it a sweet love letter

With a poem inside –
She wept and she cried
For it was the very first time

She’d received such a thing -
Like a bird on the wing
It was simply so sublime

So she dried all the tears
Of sixty-odd years
And made a cup of tea

Then she re-read the note
With a frog in her throat
And found that the poet was me!

Well!!!! I can never say now that someone didn't write me a love poem. ha ha. Forget-me-nots? Oh, how lovely. Thank you John - we won't tell Joanna. No, no, no. Actually I think I had a "love poem" from JohnnyD once on this website, but it is about time I had another one. So thank you very much John. (pass me a hankie - - -)
