This is about wanting, but not being able to tell somebody how you feel, when you have things on your mind but the time isn’t right or you can’t bring yourself to say. It’s about the feelings of frustration and hopelessness you feel about not being able to tell that person.

hope you like it and any comments are welcome

Jennifer

Why can't it just be easy?

Why can't I say what I mean?

Mean what I say.

Why can't it be simple?

Why does everything I say have a hundred meanings and one?

I want to tell you.

I want to let you know.

My words come out as gibberish.

My words come out as lies.

Why is so hard?

Why can't I just tell you?

Tell you how I feel.

I want so much to tell you but my mind has locked me out.

Isn't it supposed to get easier?

Isn't that what they say?

Who are they anyway? Liars.

It doesn't get easier.

It just gets harder.

You smile at me.

You're smiling at me now.

I smile back and you say

Something I can't hear.

I'm trying to talk to you.

The words are almost there.

I open my mouth to speak them,

but they're muffled behind glass.

My mind screams the words, words you need to hear.

You smile again, and walk without looking back.

You walk away and don't look back.
