My finished book.

Something a little silly at my trauma of having to start a new notebook after a good six months of the same one!

It’s the end of an era,

The end of a learning curve.

I got out of you what I put in,

So it’s everything I deserve.

There has been some wasted time,

There are gaps still here and there.

But this is the final page,

And I am thrown into despair!

For now I must face nothingness,

A book a virgin of words.

No scribbles for inspiration,

No lines I call ‘absurds’.

Goodbye my old and tatty friend,

I bid you a fond farewell!

To the bookcase you must go,

With your poems that won't sell!

Though I write mainly on my laptop, I have notebook galore. They can be quite fun to return to after a few months. I don't like starting a new one either. I've found the trick is to have a few going so that even if you have to start a new one, you always have a half finished one to return to. Seems a little less daunting.
