Chicken on Sunday?
By Katanga

Oh - a whimsy!

Not meant to be viciously vegetarian - just food for thought?

Ha!

PS - I eat beef till the cows come home!

The Noble Chicken

I
I started as a tiny cell
Or so my parents told me
But I meant so much more to them
Than any shelf-life sell-by.

I busted from my egg one day
And strode about the yard
Little did I know my way
Would be so cruel and hard.

I was palmed up by the catcher man
His face as blank as Hell
As a chick I knew no better
But when I think . . . Oh well!

He took me to a factory
Where all was clean and fine
I baulked in admiration -
Death was his - not mine!

But now I sit in Heaven
And wonder about the supper
Where someone ate and someone drank
Of me - I love you, Papa!

No bell will now toll for me
I'm here in someone's guts
If anyone writes my eulogy
They truly must be nuts!

I laughed all the way! This is so funny, a little gruesome, and totally crazy. I loved the way it ended. Eulogy? I'm so entertained.

Ha Ha - Oh John - I am so glad that nobody can lay their hands on him now he is in Heaven. But if they do, where does he go next? ha ha. What a strange thing to think about. How can you bear to eat chicken again without thinking of him? ha ha (Perhaps he will haunt you in your dreams).
