British Summer in iambic pentameter (for Josie) |

To continue the theme. The winter snows have truly gone away
to be replaced by summer's driving rain.
Four inches fell at Curig yesterday
to level all the mountains to the plain.
And to continue with this fit of pique,
(I'm so incensed I've done a second verse),
the tennis starts at Wimbledon next week
It's bound to make the downpours ten times worse! |

Keith. | Written by Phil (6645 comments posted) 19th June 2008 | Liked this very much. Loved: (I'm so incensed I've done a second verse), Phil | Written by Brett (731 comments posted) 19th June 2008 | I much prefer the rain to the sun - then living in gloomy Wales, I'm quite happy. I'm all up for downpours at Wimbledon, just so long as Cliff isn't on hand! Enjoyed this V, Cheers | Written by lovelysarah1984 (81 comments posted) 19th June 2008 | | Too true about the tennis! Thank you everyone! | Written by mia_ms_kim (976 comments posted) 20th June 2008 | Love the 2nd stanza. I don't blame you for being incensed! Mia |
