This is actually dedicated to a friend of mine. I hope you enjoy it my dear. (Italic is the boy, normal is the wolf, different font is when they get together)
It is early in the morning, the sun hiding behind the clouds. "He's shy today" my mother told me, walking with me by my hand. I looked at the clouds in the white blue sky. A smile crosses my lips and giggle passes my smile. She looks down and smiles too, it's my actual first day of school.
I am skipping almost the whole time, my mommy calling me a 'jitter bug'. I giggle at her comment and look at her with a wide grin. "I'm just excited!"I exclaim. She leads me to the school bus, and Mr. Tucker is waiting. He smiles at me too. My mom greats him and tells me to have fun. I hop in the front seat and can't seem to sit still. My first day! I am so excited! The other kids are jumping too, at least the ones that are new like me. I watch the outdoors of my window and watch everything go by. Then suddenly something catches my eye. It was quick, and it looked like a dog. But I know I saw wings on him!
I sit on the edge of the bush, watching the cars go by. No one seems to see me, even people walk by and seem to show me nothing. My wings tuck tight against my black fur, my white feathers blowing just a bit. I let out a sigh, a small whimper too. I look up again, and see the bus as usual. But something catches my intrest! A boy's face, in the front seat. His reaction was like he saw me! I stand quickly and look around. Nothing is near me, he had to have seen me! I jump out into the street, the cars going through me as he push off and take to the sky, following the bright yellow bus.
I know I had to be dreaming but I couldn't stop looking. My nose starts to hurt and I realize that I'm crushing it. I giggle and let out a sigh, leaning back in my chair and giving up. We are almost there too, but then I hear a bump! Something landed on the bus! I know I wasn't faking this, there was really something there. I look around and scream. "Does anyone hear that?!" Some people just stop and stare at me, the they began to laugh. I pout and turn back around.
The bus stops and I jump out of my seat, grabbing the rail and walking down. "Have a great day kids!" He says as I get out. I look up and walk to the school then I hear a bark. I turn and look around but I see nothing. I sigh once more, walking to my new school.
I land on the bus, not my best landing, a thud was heard probably. I stay down and enjoy the ride, until it is stopped. I stand and look down, watching that same boy exit. My tail is wagging fast, and my emotions take over. A bark leaves my muzzle. He perk my ears forward and watch him turn. He heard me! I was in joy, finally someone could hear, and maybe even see me! I jump down and began to run to him, but he is turning away. I slow to a halt and watch him leave. My ears go back, and my tail goes limp.
My wings hit the ground with a thud, and I whimper. I slowly turn and began to walk away, making it to the bushes and falling on my stomach. My head between my paws I whimper and close my eyes. He doesn't care about me...
School was the best! But it was recess now and I ccan't wait to get out in the playground. I ran out with my classmates and laugh with them. But something stops me. I slow to a walk, then stop completely. In the shadows of the tree is something black, with..wings? I go over, my curiousity taking hold of me. I walked over as I see it snozzing. It's eyes are closed and it's wings tucked. I reach my hand out and touch it's feathers.
As James reaches to touch the wolf's feathers, his eyes flash open the wolf only lifts it's head and looks at the boy that in fact saw him and was now able to touch him. A smile crossed the wolf's muzzle and as did one on the boys. The hand moved from the feathers to the head of the majestic creature, his ears going back in a warming manner and his tongue rolling out in a pant. James smiles and plops down next to him petting him more. "I knew I saw you" The boy said as the wolf licks his face. The wolf answers back. "I have been searching for so long for someone to see me." The boy was in shock for a moment by the common words that left his mouth.
The wolf in fact could speak, and he stood up, his hieght well over the boys. He opened his white wings, his black fur gleamin as the sun hit the tip of his wings and bounced back to his fur. The boy stood fast, hugging the wolf around the neck. "By My friend!" He exclaimed. The wolf smiles and says, "I wouldn't have it any other way."
