     Your bicycle had a puncture
     I stopped to offer assistance
     Now we share a flat


                 *

     I owned an allotment
     You liked to get your hands dirty
     My smallholding swelled


                 *

     I was an out of work actor
     You loved herbaceous borders
     We grew a part...

I don't understand. Are you saying that there was sufficient living accomadation inside the inner tube of the tyre, or are the two scenarios indirectly linked?

It was a very large tyre. Think 'monster trucks'.

No, Marc, it's not a bloody tractor tyre - it's a play on words.
