The Three Little Bears.
By ReflectingGod

If you are like me and girlfriends
You receive bears as gifts from lovers
But what happens to those little bears?
Some are thrown away from a breakup
But what about the rest?
One of my friends keeps a drawer filled with little bears, all headless and mangled.
Her little collection inspired this poem.

Three little bears headless with no ears
They sit upon the dusty shelf
With fluff spilling out of their mouths
On a broken string hangs a glass eye
Clipped paws and shaved fur mangle their image

One little bear with a crooked tail
Had it's neck sewn shut
It's belly was split down the middle
One leg was missing
And also one hand

Three little heads laid up against the bed
Each had one eye missing
Their hearts were torn out
The hearts laid bleeding on the carpet
Stapled and tattered in blood

The little girl with golden hair
Lay in the ruins of her toys
In one hand was a pair of pink scissors
In the other lay a small dagger

One little bear sat slumped at his post
His  small body was in two
A band-aid covered his shoulder
Two little needles were stabbed in his back
One little needle rest in his left paw

Three little eyes stared at the girl with golden hair
Not out of hate
Not out of fear
Love is what those small brown eyes held
Misery is what drove her will

The little girl with golden hair sat up in her lair
Looking about at the tattered hearts and bodyless heads
Then down to her small hand
Which held her fear
Three little bears stared on

The smallest of the bears was the worst
No stuffing left in his little body
It surrounded him like small clouds
Needles poked up from here and there
His body sat upside down with paws penned down

Three little bears laid tucked in a drawer
A fourth little bear sat on the bed
The newest bear held a heart in his hand
Each of the three little bears knew what would come
A new little bear friend for their shelf

Four little bears sat headless on a shelf
But one sat handless
It's heart ripped up on the floor with the others
And it's one little eye full of love like the rest

A new fifth little bear sat on the bed
Heart in hand
