Sometimes (For Adonis)
By SplatterpunkShelbs

This is the first and (I think) the best of my Adonis poems. Tell me what you think.

~Shelby

Sometimes I wonder when you flip your hair,
out of your face and it hangs in the air,
for only a second;
do you toss it like that,
When you're alone?
Or when you pray?
Or when you're making love?

Sometimes I lose it when I see you smile,

At something I do and we laugh for awhile'
Until we forget it;
Do you smile like that,
At anyone else?
Or at yourself?
Or when you're dreaming?

Sometimes I stare at you and you don't see,

The fly on the wall (also known as me),
Who's watching you;
Do you sigh like that,
When you're sad?
Or because you're tired?
Or because you think no one's watching?

Sometimes I love you but mostly I adore,

How your every feature touches me to the core,
and makes me weak,
Because you're beautiful?
Or because I'm Ugly?
Or just because?

... does not do justice to the rest of the poem, which has some pleasantly quirky ideas

Great to see you back! :)

I think I agree with patterjack about the last stanza.

However, I think 'pleasantly quirky ideas' is rather patronising, which I'm sure he didn't mean to be.

I think it's much more than that - in my humble opinion, really REALLY good!

I think all of your Adonis-related work is great!

More please, Shelby!

Great! Liked it. Deep and moving. Although you do a good job in your stories, I believe you feel more comfortable writing poems. Could be just me. But I liked this a lot. Lot of emotions and aching shows through every word.

TT

Patterjack and Katanga- I know, I was on a deadline when I wrote this (ugh)! when i do re-write it I'll be sure to inform you. Thanks for your reviews, glad you liked the rest of it!

TT- You're right. I've been writing poetry a lot longer than I've been writing stories. When I really want to say something, I put it in a poem.
