Kolynos Limerick
By patterjack

As  a toothpaste , Kolynos was well known in my  youth -- now  defunct , taken  over  by  Colgate

Among  my  archives I  had  this  limerick --  based on  an  old joke about  its  advertising  slogan . It  will be my  only  posting of  this  form --  unless  i  rewrite  the  Iliad  in  limerick  form Cool

A toothpaste ad. once brought a blush

to old folk, who'd loudly cry Hush!

for  the  brand would  advise

that its  extruded  size

Was just   A half  inch  on a  dry  brush

but certainly don't remember that advertising copy :)

There's something inherently smutty about the limerick form...

I'm tempted to say: no wonder it was dry - but I won't.
