Hello! Good-bye.
By ReflectingGod
10 July 2008
A death that shouldn't have really affected me
But it did and the deceased was/is quite famous even if they were/are
very young.

I can't feel anymore
I was once tore up
But now I can only feel nothing

You death woke me up
I realized something
I could only grasp it

Days, weeks, months
It all came rushing back
I saw your smile

I knew now you were dead
No life stirred in these ashes
You no longer existed

It hurts suddenly now
I can no longer see you
I can never meet you

I could call you name
But you could never answer
I can try to reach you

What if you are here with me?
What if you are stuck in limbo?
But that is worse than being dead

It's kinda sad
I never got to say 'Hello'
Or even a 'Good-bye'

I guess I can say both
'Hell and good-bye for now.'

(You've missed your "o" off hello on last line)

It is "death" which really affects those of us who are living because it separates us from the one gone on inasmuch as we never get the chance to say the words we want to. If you have something you really wish to say to them, say it today. I've just had a "hello" from a boy in Mexico who told me my poems had really helped him with his English. That was kind. We have the opportunity. these days, to communicate our love or thanks with anyone in this world, so do it whilst they are alive. You can't tell them afterwards (well, not yet).
