A Sneak Peak of : Waltz and Awl - Dark Banality
By Mr_E_Writer

I gazed up into her beautiful blue eyes, but they were closed.
I could tell that she was trying not to cry, yet, as I watched, a crystalized tear etched a gentle ravine in to her porcelain-perfect cheek. She just stood there, head bowed and arms outstretched, as if reaching for some unseen lover. And in that moment my heart shattered like a champagne flute packed with dynamite. I collapsed to the floor, foetal and fragile, a child in the grasp of an unknown fate that drew me ever closer towards the gates of delirium.
All about me the ashen fields seemed to shimmer with life, akin to a carnival in a heat haze where tousle-haired gypsies, revelling carefree in hempen fog, created atmospheric optical illusions in which observers saw distorted objects and surreal contorted scenes.
Abruptly, her eyes flashed open, sparkling with newfound vitalitas. "Of course, you knew that the gods would bring us to this point in time. For time is transient and we two are merely travellers upon the sands of an hourglass."
My features sallow, I suppressed a callous laugh. "You would dare speak to me of transience! Was it not I who brought us to this place?"
She was close enough to touch, close enough to taste.  I inhaled her sweet scent, becoming intoxicated, drowning in her delectible decadence.
With her head tilted she looked to the greying skies. "Then you have brought us one step closer to His door. One step closer to your death."

I can see you are very skilled at what you do, much more advanced than i! A very discriptive piece of writing.

Thanks for your comments on the devil's elbow, much appreciated!

Before i wasn't trying to say you were wrong, just attempting to be more positive. I think young writers like myself need encouragment.

Again, good work
