The author of the baldascoot Is to me a wise old bird He writes rhyme that stir the mind With works that are gritty Not meant to be be pretty They are just they to remind us We are all one of a kind We are all human we all have a heart We all need to eat sleep and indeed fart There's no one who stands alone In a different time zones We all a part of life wondrous art Some of his works are Witty Just written for fun If I see that damn bird I'll for my gun He talks of love as any husband should Perhaps he could teach mine I wish he would His work is creative he has is own style Often lamenting when self expressing What may be deemed a fault In a men of such learning His longing his yearning For the fruit of the vine His passion for the odd glass of wine The fact of which I only care to mention Just to refine him Not to be unkind to him So Just to conclude this ode I herald John with a big gong Send Love as a friend May our friendship stay strong Thou we may never meet To claim your friendship To me is a treat That I find hard to beat Keep up your unique style At least for a while Katanga so long
