Everything what is gold does not shine

What do you make of this?

Everything what is gold does not shine
but sometime,
if he is lucky,
when he bend to pick up the glinting,
glancing glistening light,
he find something precious there,
maybe one time out of one million time.

It wait to be discovered, like a prince
waiting for
the princess's soft kiss.
To know she like him for himself,
like his strange self.
Take the cinnamon stick
from the shelf
Share a one in a million time out of time.

Now, stop look for the precious
and the precious will find you,
you know,
tiny bits of magic,
hiding;
wait to be found.
Call he and she
with their small voices,
biding they time, in time, time will tell.

Intriguing. The unusual grammar makes the piece feel like a sort of ethnic magical chant, or even a lullaby. I'm not sure on first reading if there's any logical flow in the ideas but the piece certainly seems to hang together and I get the sense that the person reciting/singing it can feel the connection between the ideas! This one will take more than one reading I think... :)

Thanks Amboline. When I wrote it the 'voice' seemed to want to make it's presence felt!

It was sparked by seeing a poem written is Spanish and running it through one of these online translator programmes, Of course it came out as pidgeon english so I just took the first line and the 'cinnamon stick, which appearded bizzarly in the middle of the poem.

Then it sort of became a 'searching for the one piece of gold in amongst the crap of life' theme.

I am actually rather fond of the voice. It's been interprated variously as rap, west country dialect and jamaican. Interesting to read other writer's ideas on it.
