A baby rainbow was born

When the nozzle ejaculated

A spray of Adam’s Ale

Nutritious water

Hit the thirsty oak deck

With a steady purr

Then We furled sails

The topsails, t’gallants

Spanker, staysails and headsails

From fore to aft

Rolling them like a spiced salami

We brushed hands on the inner jib

We all headed to the pub for one

I was giddy from the sun

That fired down with temper on us

We took shelter under the flowery parasol

The table was soon covered in pints

And box upon box of cigarettes

By 5 o’clock we had a tab

The music from the pub floated about

And on Eric Clapton’s “Cocaine”

You eased my lips apart with your tongue

I was impressed with your taste

Cool music is needed when cheating

At 10 o’clock we walked back to the ship

We held hands all the way

I kissed the nape of your neck

And you lead me to the cabin by my fingertips

I peeled your clothes off like onion layers

And we stood there naked until I made the move

The sheets lay like black marble carved around us in the morning

Two grecian lovers, a moment encapsulated in eternity

I stole a kiss before you awoke….Friends again

Feelings of guilt weighed me down that day

You caught me looking at you on the phone to Tom

You smiled a smile that seemed to say ‘All’s fair in love and war…’

So much I should enjoy...

The first stanza ( not just because of 'ejaculation') a good friend of mine swears Adams is a good beer! This poem is full of allusions I should revel in; 'rolling them liked spiced salami' 'Clapton's Cocaine' (though for preference I always use JJ Cale's).
I do like the penultimate stanza - every line is faultless.
And the first line of the final stanza - that could stand as poetry on its own!

Reading back my review it seems I did not enjoy reading it, on the contrary I did - very much.
Cheers
Much enjoyed!

' Cool music is needed when cheating' - what a line!

'And you lead me . . . by my fingertips' - another!

Will return to this!

Cheers!

Well enjoyed. Great one liners. Very visual.
