TIME FOR LOVE

Dreaming of a time
Where I have been

I see now, no pain
But love coming to me
And teaching me new

I knew this time would come one day
But never expected it to be this way

I love to be
All for you

But more than that
I have found this time
To be most divine

And all for you

This is a poem absolutely full of warm emotion - positive, selfless energy, without the obsessiveness or self-centredness that many poems of this type sometimes show.

I do however have a slight problem with it, which is that I'm not sure it is a poem for "public consumption". It is clearly a very personal piece written from one person to another; those two people understand the emotions being expressed and the story behind them, and I've no doubt that the piece means a lot to you both; but there's really not a lot for an external audience to identify with. For instance you say you "never expected it to be this way" - but we don't know WHAT way. The back story isn't revealed at all, and there's no particular imagery that I as a third party can latch onto to enable this to become a poem that means something for me personally.

Not that this is a bad poem at all. It isn't. I just feel that it is a private piece and that its meaning is only ever going to be really understood by you and the person for whom you wrote it.
